Medicare Advantage
Medicare Advantage, or Part C, is an alternative to Original Medicare. It is provided by private insurance companies who are contracted with Medicare. These plans will provide the same basic coverage as Original Medicare, but will also include additional benefits that can sometimes be provided at no extra cost.
Medicare Supplements
Medicare Supplement Plans, also known as Medigap, is a way for beneficiaries to reduce the amount they owe when paying medical bills. One of the biggest parts of Medigap is selecting the right policy. Medigap is divided up into ten different policies, each of which are named by a single letter: A, B, C, D, F, G, K, L, M, and N.
Prescription Drug Plans
Medicare Part D provides coverage for prescription drugs. These prescription drug plans can be purchased as a standalone plan with Original Medicare, or as an added benefit with Medicare Advantage. Each Part D plan consists of a formulary that sheds light on what prescriptions of yours will be covered.
